About Me

I was born in Germany and grew up in South Africa. Two very different worlds that shaped how I see, how I listen, and how I adapt. One taught me structure, the other taught me openness. Today I live in Lisbon, though my work often takes me far from home.

For ten years I worked in the commercial world, fashion, music videos, advertising. It gave me discipline, craft, and the ability to deliver under pressure. But over time, I knew I wanted something more honest. It took a decade to make that change. I moved into documentary photography, where the work feels like home.

The one commercial field I’ve kept is overlanding. Not because it’s business, but because it’s part of my life. I’ve travelled for months off-grid in southern and eastern Africa and taken long journeys across Europe. I understand the overlanding community and what brands need to show to connect with it. My goal is to create images that are strong, authentic, and beautiful to hold attention long enough for meaning to surface.

I believe the best work begins with trust between photographer and subject, between story and audience.

My approach is simple: be present, listen carefully, wait for the light that tells the truth, and keep the grit that makes an image real.
